A brief snow squall gave way to a beautiful sunset in Chesler Park in the Needles District of Canyonlands. I was thankful the camera and tripod were ready for action, as the light lasted only about 5 minutes.

A bend in the Colorado River reflects the canyon walls, towers, and mountains above it as it enters the Castle Valley. The river's edge is lined with the red stems of invasive tamarisk (salt cedar).
