Up In Flames - Flame Azalea Spring Flowers North Carolina Appalachian Trail Roan Mountain
One of my favorite places in the Southern Appalachian Mountains during the spring flower bloom in the mountains, the Roan Mountain Highlands always offer big scenic landscape views with dramatic skies and vivid colors. This area is situated on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee and features high altitude grassy balds that have large natural gardens of flame azalea and catawba rhododendron.
