An amazing sunset at Folly Beach on our most recent trip to the coastal areas near Charleston, SC. This South Carolina beach scene had all of the elements a landscape photographer could hope for with a great subject, incredible lighting, leading lines in the sky and water to draw you deeper into the scene, and it's all topped off by a richly colored sunset sky. I especially like the way a beam of golden evening light perfectly highlights the fine detail of the tree trunks.
I shot this image on the eve of Hurricane Irene as she approached Charleston, and you can see the leading edge of the storm on the horizon. I returned to this location the next morning as the storm hit and it was anything but the peaceful and serene environment pictured here. Hope you enjoy it, comments welcome! ;-)
Update: This image was featured in a recent issue of Charleston Magazine and will be featured in an upcoming issue of Shutterbug Magazine, grab a copy and check it out!

The Pinnacle - Asheville NC Blue Ridge Parkway
One of my favorite times to be in the mountains, spring flowers along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville NC is always an awesome treat for the eyes as well as the soul. It's this time of the year when the Catawba Rhododendron spring to life under frequent afternoon thunderstorms in the Southern Appalachians, providing dramatic skies and dappled light over thick layers of fresh spring flowers in bloom. Hope you enjoy the view, thanks y'all!

Just found out that I'll be published in Outdoor Photographer Magazine for a 2nd month in a row, so look for me in the May and June issues of OP :)
A deep south plantation live oak tree dripping with spanish moss hangs over spring azalea flowers in full bloom at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston SC. This was an extremely difficult landscape to capture in a single exposure, given the incredibly bright morning sunlight and super high contrast of the scene. One of my favorite places in the Spring flower season, Magnolia Plantation is a stunning sight that is rich with vibrant color during the azalea bloom. Click the image to view it large! Hope you enjoy it, faves and comments are appreciated! ;-)
