Der Wiedehopf (Upupa epops) ist die einzige Art oder nach anderer Auffassung eine von mehreren Arten aus der Vogelfamilie der Wiedehopfe (Upupidae). Die Wiedehopfe werden gemeinsam mit der etwas artenreicheren Familie der Baumhopfe (Phoeniculidae) in die Ordnung der Bucerotiformes gestellt.
