Empire State Building by morning (for a change).... As anyone who has ever been up the Rockefeller Building before knows, elbow room at the Top of the Rock is at a premium. I hoped to be first up this particular morning [already frustrated that you can't get in early enough to shoot a sunrise] so arrived around 7:15 for the 8am opening. Coincidentally, some brave runners were sprinting to the top for charity [ more on that in later shots ] and I was able to piggy back my way in. The runners were sprinting only as far as the penultimate floor and after a bit of persuasion, security let me up to the top, by myself, for about 30 mins before the public started making their way in... Felt like a real treat.
