In terms of accessibility, this is one of the toughest scenes I've shot. Covadonga is a much photographed location from close up, but I could see the perspective I wanted on the craggy hills opposite the Basilica.... An hour later, after fighting through dense gorse, rocks and wild rose bushes, I was rewarded by this misty scene unfolding in a clearing above a small cliff edge... I'd love to go back one day and re-shoot the whole scene under a more dramatic sky.
