The very first Boeing 737s, did not go to an American airline, but to Lufthansa. This was probably because the German airline was almost the only one who chose the original -100 variant, with every other early customer opting for the slightly larger -200. Lufthansa operated 22 out of 30 series 100 produced and D-ABEI here was the 11th off the line.

Due to the fire at Potters Bar Bus garage all Optare Metrodecker have been temporarily withdraw from service while an investigation and safety checks are carried out.

Therefore currently Route 23 is only operating between Westbourne Park and Paddington
