Drivers on US 101 in Grays Harbor County near Artic are using a temporary, one-lane detour road near milepost 72.6 at Rock Crusher Hill. The road guides traffic around the construction project. An automated signal (in the distance) will control one alternating lane of traffic on the detour road. The speed limit on the detour road will be 25 mph and overwidth vehicles are not allowed. The detour road allows contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to shore up an unstable hillside (not pictured) and prevent further roadway settlement.
