The Nooksack eroded its bank about six miles east of Glacier along the south side of SR 542, and by Nov. 16, 2015, the erosion exposed guardrail posts along the eastbound lane. WSDOT reduced the highway to one lane using the westbound lane and put out portable traffic signals to control traffic. Emergency repairs began Nov. 20 and are expected to take several weeks to complete.
