Eastbound SR 524 near SR 522 north of Woodinville includes an intersection where the highway turns right from Maltby Road to Yew Way. North of this turn, Yew Way continues, creating a three-way intersection. Traffic on eastbound SR 524 Maltby Road and southbound Yew Way must stop before continuing. To improve traffic flow in this area, in 2020 WSDOT will widen Yew Way, creating a through lane and a left-turn only lane onto Maltby Road. In a related project, Snohomish County is adding a railroad crossing gate where the tracks cross Maltby Road.
