Winter solstice is December 21st, but we had the first snow of "winter" 2023 today. It was very wet snow, which turned to rain, and it continues to rain.

Using the Industar 50-2 is a bit tricky, because you need to focus wide-open, but then manually stop-down the lens, which if not careful, can also rotate the focus ring. Trying to focus with the lens already stopped down is difficult; otherwise, the lens is very compact, so the Zenit XP/Industar 50-2 kit is relatively "light".

On a sunny day, I quickly found out that the Industar 50-2 works best by zone focusing, making the Zenit XP2 and lens combo into a nice point-and-shoot set. The lens seems to be prone to flares, but I count it as a charm of the lens.
