My newly acquired Zenit 122, and I mostly picked this one up for the Helios 44M-7, which I believe was the last of the series and optically the sharpest. I didn't even know the series went up to #7, until I saw this camera, so then I had to look into the lens and of course get it. I now have the 44-2, 44M and 44M-7. To make a "small" kit, I have the Industar 50-2.
The 122 itself, which I had not expected, is very plasticky. My first Zenit was a Zenit B. It was a robust camera, solid medal built, but the shutter curtain became unglued. Next came the Zenit EM and Zenit 12XP, and both feel hefty and mostly metal. The 122 is mostly plastic, kinda cheap plastic too, and the LED's are quite dim for the meter, but it's a lot lighter too, so I do like that.
