I was having a conversation just at lunch today about how what I really enjoy about the sci-fi that I enjoy is its ability to tell stories about our world but hide them inside stories about fictional worlds. It can be quite amazing how prescient an imagination can be to think up something that doesn't exist, use it as a vehicle to talk about something that does exist, and then get bonus points for the fiction eventually becoming reality itself. Specifically I had some of the writings of William Gibson in mind since he had just come up in an unrelated conversation. That was the thread that I was mentally tugging on as I walked.

I suppose if you really wanted to tie that in with this image you could say a lot of the same about photography: it is a story about our world often wrapped up in a sort of fiction. Of course, working with a film like Lomochrome Turquoise makes that even easier to execute and compare. But then again, you don't necessarily need to tie these musing with this image at all either. It can also just be what it is - a lovely little story all its own.
