I do believe this is the second image I ever made of my son (the first was him being weighed). Six years ago today he was born and the grandest of adventures began. So birthdays are not just a day for him to celebrate, but Wendi and I as well, 'cause he is a pretty awesome son and it just seems to get better all the time (he is working on a short story called The Head and fixated on being a ninja... the two are not related either).
Wendi suggested I post six photos of Owen today, one for each year he is old, but I think I am going to keep it to my usual two: one from his first year of life and one from this past year.
So, Happy Birthday Owen! :-D
Update: It snowed when Owen was born. In fact, the week after he was born Portland was hit with a snowpocalypse. It snowed on his first birthday too, so we dubbed him a "snowbaby". Last night, Wendi and Owen did a snowdance before bed. Sure enough, on my walk to work this morning there is a fair amount of snow mixed in with that rain. Well done, Owen.

Owen went through a phase where he loved drawing mazes. He loved other people drawing them for him too. He would turn the driveway into a giant chalk maze that I would have to solve before I could come inside. Thankfully they were generally fairly easy (that is as long as you had a grasp of the logic of a four year old).
