if the fortress of Al Karak is not the best preserved one, it's certainly one of the most famous among all Crusader castles built in the Holy Land because of all illustrious historical figures closely connected with it: Sultan Saladin, Renaud de Châtillon, King of Jerusalem Baldwin IV called the Leper (Roi de Jérusalem Baudouin IV le lépreux) , etc...

however, quite heavy reconstruction work was in progress at the time of the visit and for this reason or maybe for another one I did not find the castle itself very attractive neither could I take any compelling shot of it.

so instead of the castle, here is a view from it. looking from this point to the right, one can see the Dead See, the West Bank and even Jerusalem on a bright clear day. unfortunateley there was a bit of haze, thus I had to point the camera rather to the valley...

Jordan is a dreamland for any photographer: friendly and willing models abound there...;-)

be nature I am a rather shy person and I don't always dare to ask people to pose for me.

but in Jordan very often I did not even have to...;-)
