The 2024 Solar Eclipse that swept across North America was breathtaking and one of the most fantastic events I have ever witnessed. Here is a close up of totality featuring three solar flares that were quite active during the eclipse.

Hiking through Watkins Glen State Park in the Finger Lakes region of New York is a wonderful experience. It's quite a challenge to capture images in this park without people in the shot because this place is stunningly beautiful with many waterfalls cascading through the green canyon and is very popular. Here's one of the few I was able to manage with some well timed angles.

Sometimes as a landscape photographer, you do something stupid, like hiking to Delicate Arch with a thunderstorm in the forecast. Once we got into position at the arch, a strong thunderstorm passed along the ridgeline to the south of us. I set up my video camera in hopes of catching some lightning. I was not disappointed. I captured this image from the video that I was taking during the storm. It is NOT a faked sky. Probably a little too close for comfort.
