Early Datsun cars used these Austin engines. I met a guy who said his Datsun said Austin on the valve cover.

Hino built the Renault 4CV from 1951 then designed their own body. This Contessa was built from 1961 to 1964 and not in very big volume.
A new larger 1300 Contessa came in 1964 and was considered to be imported by Studebaker to supplement their dealers after they lost Mercedes Benz. Hino car production ended by 1969 and the factory was used to build Toyotas.
Today Hino builds only trucks and is a subsidiary of Toyota,

I've said this before but early in Kaiser's auto building years They had talks with Fiat about selling their cars in North America. Fiat engineers came to Detroit to study with Budd and Kaiser. It didn't happen but Fiat's cars took on the look of Frazers just in case, Compare to picture below
