Jethro is a grand old saki monkey who resides at the Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre in Dorset, UK. He was 24 at the time I met him.

The Centre assists governments around the world to stop the illegal smuggling of primates from the wild. At the Centre, refugees who have suffered abuse or neglect are rehabilitated in to natural living groups.

He was such an intriguing character.

Sweet little meerkat keeping watch for its fellow furry kin.

Seen at Marwell wildlife sanctuary, Hampshire, UK.

Meerkats are small, diurnal mongooses. Their large, more forward-facing eyes give them better binocular vision, making them good at judging distances.

It was a very cold winter's morning and I'm sure this little character was also enjoying the warming rays of the sun.

Around 30 cm length.
