Storm chasing at the harbour. Such an exhilarating experience seeing the wind making shapes with the sea. Hoping for another storm soon.

Padley Gorge, Peak District, UK

A relaxing hour or so in Padley Gorge this morning before the crowds descended. Had a lovely little Robin for company.

I was lucky with the passing rain showers on this shot that added a misty feel.

Required reading when I was in Grade 9 (eons ago), was the 1943 novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. And now, eons later, all I remember about the book is the title - but the metaphor for the novel is the Tree of Heaven, that has a persistent ability to grow and flourish even in the harshest of conditions - and that is certainly the case for this little hawthorn tree on an exposed hillside, overlooking the mighty Bla Bheinn, Isle of Skye.
