Today you really are seeing double, well actually triple as this is an in camera multiple exposure (3 images) of the city skyline from Sandridge point, the same point where the ICM was made a few posts ago.
The sun was setting behind me and it threw some gorgeous golds that were captured in the building windows and walls.

For the FFF Snap Happy monthly theme Lisa now chooses three themes, and you can choose one or more of them. This month the themes were;
- Lost treasures
- On a table top
- The colour Old Gold
I always seem to take the meandering path to the themes and never quite know where I will end up. This image relates to lost treasures- my favourite childhood teddy Big Ted. He sits hidden away in the top of my wardrobe, along with my other soft toys. While doing some cleaning a few weeks back, I rediscovered him. Just the sight, smell and touch of him bring back rushes of childhood memories, of my protector and best friend. I don’t know how I would have coped with the rough and tumble of childhood and night terrors if I didn’t have such a strong attachment to Ted. It always a joy to rediscover his magic healing powers.
The image of the woods was taken at Malmsbury and it has beautiful gold colours. It felt quite magical and I always thought I might be able to use it in the future.
I took a photo of Big Ted at the base of a tree in my garden (the Sherpa saw me from the front window and came to ask what on earth I was photographing teddies for!) and then placed him in the scene. The distortion to the image represents the way memories often present to us.

A break from Tassie to the beach- Dragon Head rock, Rye Victoria.
The late afternoon was cloudy and grey though not totally flat.
-Will there or wont there be a sunset? That was the most discussed question of the afternoon (or course there is always sunset but will it be a colourful one!. The sunset App said -overcast-forget it)
When we arrived at our destination, two groups of photographers had taken up prime position around the dragon. This limited composition somewhat but they were pretty obliging.
The sun was setting to the right of the dragon and as the sun began to drop towards the sea, there was a band of some lovely colour, just not in the right place!
I am not totally happy with this but because it is my birthday and I am feeling pretty blah this morning, I wanted to post some colour.

Or is it?
Dragon head Rock, Rye.
While the tendency is to go for a long exposure, in this image I wanted to show the power of the incoming waves you can see in the background.
This is a notoriously dangerous place. It doesn't look it when the water is smoothed out with a long exposure. However, this dragon head sits quite a distance from the shore on a rocky reef. It can only be accessed at low tide. Once the tide starts coming in, it intrudes with these sporadic, huge waves that quickly cover the rocky ledge and fill the pool of water.
With that last sunset image, we were all pushing it to stay out there because, as luck would have it, the tide rushes in before the sun has set at this time of the year.
My camera club is heading there this weekend (which I stupidly didn't realise when I visited there last week). Still, different conditions might make for different images!
