I popped down to the coast for a couple of quick snatched sunset photos as it had been a day os scudding squalls. The light wasn't wonderful but the beach patterns in the sand were beautiful so were a perfect canvas for a pastel painting. These Feet of Clay is by I Like Trains , I think somedays I probably have feet of clay too. I need to do my alternative Christmas tree sometime, there's a possibility this afternoon, we'll see.

Another shot from a quick five minutes on Rannoch Moor on the way home. It must have looked fantastic when the hard frosts first arrived. But you can't be everywhere at the same time ;) I'm off volunteering this morning so need to get ready. Cold Cold Ground is by Tom waits

A delicate sunrise from the drive back to Wales. After hectic twisting mountain roads it was quite soothing to see this pastel sunrise ove the Grey Corries. Sadly I've got no more snow clad peaks for a. while but this was a great final parting shot. Simmer Down is by Bob Marley and the Wailers. I need to go Christmas shopping in Cardiff today.

It's always bitter sweet having to return home to Wales, especially as the drive down to Glasgow is just full of wonderful photo opportunities. I only stopped a couple of times though and made good time. It's so hard not to stop around Rannoch Moor area , especially when ice was still lingering on the lochs. It must have been so beautiful earlier in the week under a hard frost. Oh What A Life is by The Deep Dark Woods. I had such a great time on Skye I think I'll have to head up to either Torridon or Coigach if there's good snow in February. Even though I took my paints and sketching stuff the days were so good I only managed a couple of quick sketches.

I took a drive up to Torridon on Wednesday to try and catch some sun and also see an otter. Luckily for me I did both, getting greta views of sun drenched snowy hills of Beinn Eighe and fantastic reflections of Slioch over Loch Maree. The sun didn't last long but it wa swell worth the drive along memories roads through my favourite landscapes. The otter showed and swanm to with about ten feet at the same spot I've been watching them for nearly forty years. I need to come up here more often, it's really magical.
