It's been an emotional couple of days after Sue's birthday, so it was good to get back down to the beach yesterday. There was a cold wind blowing and heavy showers forecast, just what I like. The showers took a long while to appear though so I lay on the rocks at Whitmore Stairs , daydreaming and getting a little sunburnt. After an hour or so a couple of wonderful clouds came charging in . They were so big I struggled to fit them in. Mighty Cloud of Joy is by Lloyd Parks.

It's been a week of wonderful clouds , charging skies, and ever evolving light. From the darkest darks to the lightest light, so into the white by Pixies is fine for one of the dazzling bright spells , before the next shower hit. I love the weather we've had this week, the best sort of days to be down the beach.

Another day with storm showers flying across the channel from the south, bringing rain, hail , thunder and lightning. The light and colours were wonderful, and ever changing. I sheltered under a cliff as the beach emptied of walkers, and had the welcoming arms of the beach all to myself. I love days when its full sun one minute, and heavy downpours the next. Into my Arms is by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. A beautiful song for a beautiful afternoon.

A photo from a wild and wonderful day in Brighton last year, when crazy storms flew up the English channel. It was a wonderful sight but annoying for me as I only had my macro lens with me and could't capture the might of the scene. That'll teach me :)) This is a slice of the action. Something wicked is by British Sea Power. After watching the wonderful clouds move away we witnessed a dancing murmuration of starlings on the pier, a fantastic end to the day as the sun slowly set.

Last week was a week of sun, squalls and ever increasing drama, as pulses of cloud raced across the channel. There never seems enough time on days like that, and the widest of lenses is never wide enough. However they're my favourite days , even though it's a merry dance. Dancing on the wing is by The Felice Brothers, though Dancing on the Wind would be a better title.
