It feels surreal to be having so many amazing walks in the mountains while so much of the world is suffering. Perhaps because of the long wait for company and the mountains, the appreciation is greater. The Longer you Wait is by Richmond Fontainer and I feel so privileged to be able to experience these wonderful wild places. Mon Viso looking resplendent.

A look back to a wonderful visit to the French Italian Alps snatched from the jaws of lockdowns. We're now back in lockdown here so I can't go to the coast. This is the French Italian border looking to Le Pain de Sucre from Col Agnel. The Land Beyond is by British Sea Power. What an amazing month we had. Hard to believe I was so lucky.

In these days of lockdown I've gone. a bit crazy not having access to my favourite beaches. In preparation for my impending lonely lockdowns to come, I've decided to learn some new musical instruments. I ordered two banjos, a. concertina, some tin whistles and a bodrhan :))) I explained to the neighbours they may hear some funny noises. This is a. photo from a magnificent walk in the Nevache valley, from our wonderful month in the alps of France and Italy. It's hard to believe looking back that we had such a brilliant time in such a crazy year. However the world keeps turning, so that's today's track by Tom Waits, The World Keeps Turning.

I'm currently in the middle of hopefully five days of self isolation in Italy. This is a black and white version of a fantastic walk below the cliffs of Granta Parei in Gran Paradiso . I forgot to tell my long suffering companion that the descent route involved a short section of via ferrata :)))) I'm hoping for more excitement in the mountains once self isolation has ended. No Way Out Of Here is by Iron and Wine and Ben Bridwell.
