47734 'Crewe Diesel Depot' goes north towards Stenson Junction at 14.36 on the 11th December 1998. It was working parcels 1E21, the 10.45 BTM to Low Fell and was one of many Royal Mail 'extra' parcels trains used in December 1998.
I do not recall seeing these extra parcel workings in earlier years so was this the first year of them?

A very misty December afternoon sees 58041 'Ratcliffe Power Station' approach Stenson Junction at 14.30 on the 11th December 1998 with a loaded MGR. My notes say it will take the line to Toton, where it will possibly wait its turn to go to its namesake, Ratcliffe Power Station?
Of interest on the left is the line into Willington PS which would finally close on the 31st March 1999.
