Strong red color in the northern lights this night. Not readily visible to a human eye, but the camera captured them beautifully.
It's my understanding that red is a difficult color for human eye to discern at night, as our night vision is provided by cone cells, which do not recognize color, but only light and dark.
I believe red color (sometimes purple, sometimes blue) in the northern lights is caused by the sun's emitted electrons colliding with and reacting with nitrogen in the high atmosphere.

The little rush island in the middle of this pond is sometimes a nesting place for swans or other water birds, but beware... the water rises without warning and floods the little island.
On this day it was heavily frosted in the morning sun.

A red fox looking for a drink. The pond has 2-3 inches of ice, but there are little pockets of water in the mucky margins.
This must be a difficult time of year for the wild things to get a drink, with ponds frozen but no snow.
