White-Winged Crossbill ♀

Little female white-winged crossbill (Loxia leucoptera) waits her turn to get to the feeder.

If you look closely, you can sort of see the characteristic crossed ends of her bill. This adaptation enables her to pry seeds out of cones year around.

The different growth patterns of the frost are so varied, almost seeming to exhibit life of their own. Spiderwebs, leaves, flowers, exotic deep sea creatures....
