I was fortunate enough, out and about, to meet these ladies from a Chapter of the British Red Hatters Society on a day out enjoying themselves.

Jenny Joseph may have died in January this year but her ideas live on in her poem 'Warning' which begins:

“ When I am an old woman I shall wear purple, with a red hat
Which doesn’t go and doesn’t suit me
And spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves...."

Purple and red and fun - I’ll subscribe to that.
