So many epic waterfalls in the Wells Grey Provincial park and I chose to shoot the small one right next to the road. In actuality it is the only one I could get to look alright under a blue sky day.

I went for the fog but it was virtually all gone when I arrived. Though I luckily got one shot with a tiny skiff that drifted into the exact right place.

This is my $3000 photo.....because immediately after I took the photo a giant wave came along and wiped out my camera. I had been watching the waves for 10 minutes and thought the position was safe. As soon as I turned to get something out of my camera bag the wave came and I scrambled across big rocks to catch the tripod exactly as the camera went under water. I saved the content but the camera was toast even after only a 1 second dip. Luckily I had a backup camera.

It is interesting the sounds a camera makes when dipped in salt water. When you take the lens off and hold the body to your ear you hear sizzling sounds, even hours later.

Just some of the many un-named waterfalls that appear in Milford during the "normal" weather. You really would be unfortunate to go here on a calm sunny day.

It was a completely still tide pool but with some fortune the rising waves just crest over the edge as I was set to shoot adding a few bubble streaks.

This is one of the best and least known spots in NZ. Almost no one goes here because you have to cross private land to get to it or take a more tretcherous hike along the coast and get cut off by tides.
