It's interesting what you discover when you're clearing the lineside (well, I think so...). This wooden post is alongside the boundary fence on the low embankment behind the Up Through siding - Class 50 diesel 50017 Royal Oak just in view on the left is stabled there.

I had assumed the post was part of the older fencing being used as a support for the telegraph pole just off shot - the wire rope and metal guying can be seen.

Look closer and the post is actually the top of old signal post the holes indicating where fixing bolts were located. It can be directly compared with the wooden post on the Down Home bracket posted earlier today.
