Great hiking weather in the Peak District this week. No glorious sunsets, but plenty of experimenting with heather. I found I preferred the bluish tinge of backlit heather to the gaudy pinks of golden hour. But I might just be being jealous!

I'm not entirely sure I liked the Fairy Glen on the Isle of Skye. Sorry Skye lovers. You feel a bit like you're in some sort of Disney landscape theme park, and have to keep reminding yourself it's real.

Sadly, no light-shows for me on my trip to Skye. Not so much as a bit of Scottish mist or low cloud on this particular day. But the Quiraing's implausible landslips look stunning in any light.
