St Abb`s head National nature reserve Scotland on the Berwickshire coast
A fishing village I had wanted to photograph ever since doing my research on Scotland, you can see Seal pups and Dolphins when conditions are right but sadly none to be found during our stay here.
It has a lovely little sheltered harbour and a lifeboat station with and independent privately funded lifeboat.
This was my first shot of the day done very quickly to capture that glorious light on the Headland and some lovely light on the foreground rocks spicking out some lovely colours and details.
Very quickly the weather changed, the wind picked up even more and down came the rain and the temperature dropped with a biting wind chill, we had brought the right clothes so that was not a problem, even Lowena had a thick coat on.
Plenty more shots of this quaint village to come, from here we headed North deeper into Scotland.

Back from our adventures up to the North of England and into Scotland.
I must say that the weather gave us a variety of conditions, a little snow a little sunshine a little rain and a lot of freezing wind, well it is winter after all so what else did I expect to be honest, we had a warm and very cosy cottage to stay in and only a short walk to a nice pub as well.
I shot many images from snow capped hills to amazing bridges deserted beaches and amazing weather shots, not an awful lot was planed we took it day to day with the weather guiding us to many decisions, I tend to avoid the honey pot locations that have been shot a million times though I did touch on one spot. which will turn up as I randomly trawl through the shots I took.
I came back to a strange email that I believe is a scam saying a Copyright issue had occurred on someones photos and could I open the enclosed PDF to view the claim, no way, the person involved does not even have any photos, looking on Flickr this seems to be a known occurrence so beware everyone.
The snow capped hills of the Cheviot's was a stunning view, we managed to find a high point to grab some shots across a valley where I found a nice tree to pin myself against to avoid the wind pulling on the 100- 400, many more of this scene to come as we returned a few hours later when the light was different.

My last posting for a couple of weeks or so as we head North to Northumberland and Scotland tomorrow. My view here is looking out towards the English channel over the clump of trees on the hill known as Lancing ring, sadly these trees are slowly being cut down due to Ash die back, the sky was so lovely which is what originally drew my lens plus the the layers of shadows flying across the landscape.

My penultimate posting before we go away for a couple of weeks, I find Teasels to be very photogenic, whenever we walk past this rather large patch of them, one day we were walking past in a rare bit of sun I thought a backlit shot to bring the Teasels into silhouettes, just a shot that caught the eye just go for it.

I like layers and patterns and this image fits in very well, the sheep feeding in a square is where the farmer comes back and moves the electric fence every few days to allow the sheep to reach a fresh strip of feed, I also wanted to include the layers of hills and the windy stormy day as clouds raced across the landscape.
