From the beginning of our trip to Somerset we had rain mist and winds, and now on the last evening in Somerset we had this wonderful sky, so glad I read the forecast right again as we thought of going the previous evening.
For those who do not know, this is Burnham on Sea Low Lighthouse built in 1832, My thanks to Jane and Lowena who waited patiently on the beach for an hour and a half while I shot away with many different compositions. Many more to come from this amazing little spot. The lights you can see in the distance is the new Nuclear power station at Hinkley point under construction .

We ventured along to the West Somerset port of Porlock Weir, there was a couple spots I wanted to photograph one of which I did not manage to get to. But I found a number of compositions along a stretch of beach with driftwood. I still have a number of images to show from past weeks particularly an amazing sunrise so I`ll intersperse new and old images for a while starting with a sunrise tomorrow .

This is Burnham On Sea low lighthouse, I shot this away from the sunset skies such as they were but there was a little colour in the clouds from the sun which was over my left shoulder. Shot with the 16-35 I did have to correct the perspective of the lighthouse as I was quite close. This is the seaward side of the lighthouse with the red stripe navigation aid, sadly I did not think to stay and see if I could get a shot of the light.

This is an image I have put together, two shots blended together, the brick arch we found on a cliff walk at Clevedon, I originally took just one shot with the 24-105 but I was not happy with how the pier sat in the window frame so I took another shot with the 70-200 to make the pier larger in the window frame.

I was trying to find a different composition of Clevedon pier as at the moment work is being done with a lot of scaffolding in some areas, I have some other shots to show in due course.
Clevedon pier is a grade 1 listed pier opened in 1869, It has been described as the most beautiful pier in England, it sits on the Estuary of the river Severn. We could not even see the coast of Wales on this day.
