Chinley 27-9-24 66704 passes through Chinley on 6G89 Hindlow-Hams Hall loaded boxes. A more colourful loco would work better but the blue boxes stand out fairly well. Red ones would be better. The road to Glossop going up the hill on the right.

Chinley 27-9-24 66704 passes Chinley North Junction on 6G89 Hindlow-Hams Hall loaded boxes. Framing the loco between trees is almost impossible- a sign of how overgrown the country has become although we are told that we still haven't enough trees!

Chapel Milton viaduct 27-9-24 I didn't rush across the field even though the train was imminent because the sun wasn't out. Suddenly the train appeared crossing the viaduct and definitely going too fast to stop at the signal, so he must have the road. The sun didn't appear till the loco had crossed the viaduct. 66704 approaches Chinley North Junction on 6G89 Hindlow-Hams Hall loaded boxes. There's far too many trees in shot!

Claremorris 21-8-04 124 had worked into the Claremorris area on a freight coupled to 177 and 177 was borrowed for a ballast job working off Castlerea. The crew obviously thought a single loco was adequate and left 124 in Claremorris on the stub of the former Ballinrobe branch which was often used to store cripples, ballast trains or anything else that needed keeping handy but out of the way. There are a couple of timber wagons further up the branch with 2 container-flats behind 124. I presume 124 would be picked up again by 177 when the ballast duty was finished.

Boyle 21-8-04 088 rolls to a stop in Boyle station whilst working the 13:25 Sligo-Dublin Connolly service. The most frustrating thing about Boyle was that it's signalbox is hidden behind that stone wall just behind the signal at the end of the platform. You can see it's pointed roof above the wall. It was difficult to get a good photo of it and get a train in the picture from this angle.
