And now for something completely different. This ride is not recommended for seniors. This group actually did NOT make it - they all ended up in the drink rescued by a kayaker who was standing by. The only one who remained on board was the brave soul in back - the navigator who was tied in and secured.

McLaren Falls New Zealand. These intrepid rafters are newbies - the falls behind them are opened up manually via a lock every Sunday at 10 am and allowed to run several hours for the rafters. They didn't actually run these falls although if i were in this shot i would say otherwise. They use this as a practice area running up to the falls then letting the swift current push them away in order to tune up they steering skills before they sail down river. I did see a couple of flipped rafts that day.
