Saxophonist Richard Underhill did not have to travel far for this gig. With his Shuffle Demons he visited possibly all continents in the last 30 years. He lives about 100 meters from the spot where he played. He is a very community minded musician and often just grabs his sax and plays. Underhill is one of the best known musician in the city and one of his song 'Spadina Bus' is still played often, even the 77 bus route was replaced by streetcars in 1997. Here he joined 'The Lesters' trio just for fun. Also on the photo is Tory Cassis on guitar and vocal

I attended first indoor concert in Toronto since January, as I have been away in February and March. I got lucky to get a ticket in Mazzoleni Hall, where capacity was restricted to 50 souls. Fern Lindzon (piano/vocals), Colleen Allen (flute, clarinet, sax), George Koller (bass) and Ethan Ardelli (drums) played concert consisting mainly of Duke Ellington work, finishing with 'Satin Doll'. It was wonderful performance; music and strange experience with all the Covid protocol, pre-registering, distancing, washing, masking, Plexiglas shields and daylight coming in through the windows. One of my favourite bands in one of my favourite venue. Rebecca Everett is the attractive front of ISPY. Ispy or I-Spy has an unlikely name for a band and I even forgot the explanation one of the insiders gave me for the band name. The music is Parisian swing, some blues, even country. All danceable and listening to singer and actress Rebecca Everett is always a bonus.
Usual suspect are Chris Kettlewell (bass), Tak Arikushi on (guitar), Dan Mock vocals and guitar and drummer Kyle Sullivan.

Adrean Farrugia did some selling at the 'Supermaket'. You could not fill the shopping cart with it, but good time is priceless. The quartet on stage and the audience had a full hour of it.
With Adrean was the one-and-only Davide Direnzo - drums, Rich Moore - guitar and bassist Ross MacIntyre. Part of Kensington Jazz Festival. #KMJF19

Adrean will be probably just occasional visitor to the city, as he moved to different province in the summer of 2022.

Charlotte and the boys made perfect spring Saturday even better with their trad New Orleans tunes. Toronto is still in Covid lockdown, but fortunately nobody chased us from the park. Since than, more strict measures were introduced, and the musicians are now not willing to risk a fine. Charlotte is a talented musician, whom I have seen first playing at about 17 (her 17, not my). She is a triple threat, as she sings, dances and plays the trombone. She even writes her own tunes.
