I did not get a seat the whole afternoon at Grossman's, but it did not bother me. The music makes you move anyway. Saturday with seven plus Happy Pals! Patrick Tevlin- trumpet, Ben Lee on banjo, Chris Adriaanse -bass, Tyler Norton on trombone, Mike Evin on keys, Bruce Mackinnon - saxophone and Chuck Clarke-drums. Courtney Lake, one of the guest vocalists, was leading the parade through Cecil street.

Rebecca Hennessy is a top trumpet player and jazz vocalist in Toronto. She was performing at the festival, when baby N (really, no longer a baby) decided she is bored with her crayons and the volunteer babysitter and decided to join her parents on stage. After a hug and a kiss, she was willing to let the band play on. This is not first time and probably not the last time it will happen, especially when both parents are musician. Moments like this are really heart warming.

Kevin Breit- guitar
Dave J Clark - drums
Michael Herring - bass, dad
Rebecca Hennessy -trumpet, vocals, mom
Tania Gill-keyboard

Naoki Hishinuma is not your typical klezmer trumpeter, but he is typical Toronto klezmer musician. His trumpet is from Germany, his English is still marginal, but he fits in ANY orchestra. He also plays tuba. You will never know who will be playing with Lemon Bucket Orkestra. Usually there are about 12-14 people on stage. Their music is mixture of Klezmer, Ukraine and Balkan folk. They sing, dance, move around on stage and very often off stage. Guaranteed entertainment from beginning to an undetermined end. You will leave with big smile on your face.
They are led by Mark Marczyk - violin, vocals / Marichka Marczyk - vocals, accordion. On the photo is Naoki Hishinuma and Marichka Marczyk.

There is no mystery where Nathan Beja takes his inspiration. His moustache is a big clue. Django Reinhardt was a great guitar player and Nathan continues in his tradition. He also has a unique unpretentious voice and large repertoire of classic tunes. Born in Mexico, he is a part of Toronto manouche and swing scene for many years. Matt Smith on trumpet is often heard with Big Smoke Brass, but in Toronto there are no barriers between different jazz ensembles.
