Some time after the federalization of the EU the near 300km long catacombs stretching beneath Paris had become sealed off from the public, making them an ideal refuge for all kinds of scum and illegal activities. In 2043 the EFU decided to use these crime infested subterranian tunnels as testing grounds for their new Advanced and Heavy infantry.

A little gremlin of a man sat behind a large desk, the creature occasionally took a swig from his amber liquid filled glass or a tug on his half-smoked cigarette. On it's face sat a shark like smile, showing a shiny gold tooth. And behind the little man stood a buff tall man, with a horribly scarified face and a cold uncaring expression. The gremlin let out a slight, barely audible, chuckle as Tibor entered. "Tibor, my favorite scavenger, how was the trip."

Stefan was the bunkers local arms dealer and also doubled as info broker, he mostly delt with the independant Proxy operating scavengers of Bunker 17. "Stefan you old bastard, that mine was completely empty, no rippers stash and my Proxy is practically falling appart. I REALLY needed that stash to be there Stefan..."

"Oh my dearest Tibor, I am sorry to hear that-"

Before Stefan could continue Tibor somewhat angrily put his Hecate Avenger high caliber rifle on the table. "Well I am broke now and I need to fix my Proxy Stefan, so give me a good deal on the rifle, you owe me that much at least."

Stefan almost started drewling at the sight of it. "Now that rifle of yours is lovely... yes tell you what, with that last venture being a bust I feel like I owe you now and I don't like owing people Tibor. So here is what we'll do, for that rifle I'll make sure your Proxy gets fixed up, talk to Sasha for that And I'll give you the best new lead I've got, free of charge."

Tibor looked at Stefan with suspicion. "Free of charge, that's unlike you Stefan."

"Yes well like I said, I don't like owing people, see one of my boys came in the other day. With a very interesting lead, found some stashed away military documents. Not much of interest however one of them had a set of base coordinates."

Tibor was getting impatient. "So what, all military installations have been picked clean years ago, everybody knows there ain't scat out there."

"Yes well, that's the thing, one of the sets of coordinates just leads to an empty spot on the map. Nobody knows of it, so that means a potential absolute treasure trove and you can get there first. I'll be selling this to the other scavs but you, my friend, will have a head start."

After the Ansui Coup happened the EFU motioned for the production of a Main Vertical Tank of their own.
Specifically a rapidly producable yet still effective MVT to bolster their borders and protect themselves and their allies.
This led to the UFA, the most technologicaly advanced member in the alliance to graciously send some top engineers to help with development.

The L1-Cyclops features two subtractable missile bays that can be installed with a variety of payloads depending on mission paramaters. As well as two chute-fed undermounted WLKM 12,7 Multi-Barrel Machineguns. It has an onboard rudementary AI that can either support a rear-mounted pilot or operate independantly on some basic parameters.

Designed much like a conventional tank, but instead of caterpillar tracks it walks on four long, finely-crafted, crab-like legs with cables almost trailing along the ground. The sleek body is smooth and simplistic, and the turret atop the chassis is fairly small with a medium-sized cannon. The drive unit at the rear is fairly well protected with a small smokestack.

Few of the Empire's glorious mechs embody versatility quite like this rather elegant walker. It is fairly durable for its tier, has respectable damage, an accurate and strong cannon with splash damage lethal to infantry, and respectable speed. It can perform and respond to almost any task equally well. Its turret can turn to face a target, which allows it to respond quickly to a changing battlefield situation without having to turn the entire chassis to do so.

Heavily inspired by the Isegrim from Jakub Rozalski's 1920 universe. This was a long time coming, work on this project started back in December, since then I've been working on and tweaking the model on occasion, I'm glad to finally upload it.
