Four SFG RS18s, made up train 565 power, slowly rolls over the Cascapedia subdivision mainline passing CF11A track on it's way to pull loaded wood chip cars sitting in CF10 track on the north side of the mainline.
CF11A is, and as you can see laying everywhere on the ground, the assigned loading track for woodchips who's cycling between Lebel's Nouvelle Ouest plant and White Birch Paper, Rivière du Loup plant. SFG have acquired 20 or so former Southern Pacific cars in order to honour this lucrative contract.

With it's morning apple firmly stuck in it's mouth, veteran SFG conductor M.L is about to bend the iron on CF10 east switch in order to push eight loaded woodchips cars out on the main toward it's train who's sitting secured and clear of Lebel's busy access road.

32 miles of travelling remain for the SFG crew in order to reach Matapédia, the junction point with Canadian National Mont-Joli subdivision.
27 years have passed since the big yellow Borg have absorbed "The Friendly" under it's ever expanding tentacules. There's at least a small fleet of SP's legacy who still enduring daily service in a forgotten part of the Québec province.

On a hot and humid august day, L589, L591 and L538 all converged at the same time at Coteau Jct. With no room yet in the yard for L589, RTC decided to bring it out of the Alexandria subdivision and back into Track #1 in order to line up VIA 35 toward Ottawa.
L538's switching is almost done and after a quick stop at the office to grab dangerous good paperworks, they will be on their way toward the Valleyfield subdivision, finally clearing the way for L591 departure for Cedars.
After VIA 60 and 65 passage, L589 will got signal to do their "zig-zag" move allowing him to cross from #1 to #4 Track and entering the yard.

Coteau will be quiet again for a few hours.

Morning switching chores at Coteau were momentarily disturbed by the passage of E271 on the #2 Track as L538 had just push a CSX-bound car on Track #4 and L591 brake testing the west lift in track Q069.
M368 is lined up with a clear signal indication on the #3 Track toward Taschereau yard.
