"The National Railway Museum celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Sir Nigel Gresley's LNER Class A4 Pacific 40601 No. 4468 ""Mallard"" setting the current World Steam Record of 126 mph on 3rd July 1938 down Stoke Bank on the East Coast Main Line by holding one of the biggest and most successful series of commemorative events in the history of railway preservation - ""The Great Gathering"", which necessitated repatriating two (No. 60008 - ""Dwight D. Eisenhower"" & No. 4489 - ""Dominion of Canada"") which had been on display in North American Museums and subsequently cosmetically restoring them in the U.K.
From July 3rd to 17th, Mallard was reunited with all five of its surviving sister A4 Locomotives around the turntable in 'The Great Hall' at the NRM in York and attracted over 140,000 visitors during the 15 day event.

This front profile shot features A4 No. 4489 - ""Dominion of Canada"" and was taken in the early morning on 17th July 2013, the last day of this unique event, at a special paid-for event with restricted numbers of people.."
