Yesterday I decided to take advantage of the sunshine and hike up Pierce stocking drive. It’s much more of an adventure during the winter months. Takes about an hour to get there by foot an hour to get back. The hike is always worth the view. I love how you feel like you’re up over Lake Michigan and you can really see the blue color of the water. The best part about it is this place is night and day from winter to summer. I get it all to myself.

Last night down on vans beach in Leland was another bright glowing red sunset. The water was filled with little ice balls. There were 2 big massive ice chunks that was created over the last nights. It wasn’t there before. The sound of the water and ice was really relaxing. I did a short little long exposure that made the water do a cool little swirl.

I must say I’m gonna miss winter. all the beauty of Michigan really comes out during the winter months. The landscape is completely transformed by Mother Nature. You don’t quite experience these moments in the mild months. It’s just not the same. But either way Michigan’s beauty is something that can’t be forgotten.
