Walking down the beach I came up on this ice structure off shore. There’s a little pathway that leads out to it. I wanted to walk out there but I told myself don’t do it. As much as I wanted to it wasn’t safe. I love this time of year on the shore line of Lake Michigan. All the cool ice build up makes for cool looking ice structures. You never know what you will walk up on. You just have to get out and walk.

Last nights little surprise. Every year the ice builds up along the lake shore. Sometimes Mother Nature makes these cool looking ice volcanos. With the right waves it looks like it’s erupting! I wanted to get closer shot but it was so icy and the splashes were so unpredictable so I didn’t get that daring but I still came away with some great shots without getting my camera completely soaked. My fingers were completely numb and stayed out there almost 2 hrs. So worth every frozen finger.

The dark blue sky opened up the other night right before sunset forming these cool little holes in the clouds. When i realized it. I missed my chance at a complete hole. They were there and gone in the matter of seconds. Moments are precious and you just have to be thankful in life.
