Here's a shot of CNW GP7 152 at Itasca Yard in Superior August 1974. The 152 was built in August 1951 for the long time CNW subsidiary Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha(Omaha Road). The CNW gained partial control of the Omaha in 1882 and leased the railroad in 1957. The Omaha was fully merged into the CNW in 1972. The 152 was considered an Omaha owned diesel in CNW accounts until it was rebuilt. The 152 was rebuilt into GP7R 4472 in November 1979 and was retired in 1992. The Omaha diesels usually had three digit road numbers, at least the GP7s did and were usually sublettered CStPM&O. The 152 appears to not have the subletters. Superior, WI August 1974. I'm not sure what the worst unit is here, the shitty H2 or burnt and faded warbonnet. And for good measure, we have a deceased opossum in the gauge in front of the leader.

After pulling the sugar track at the Carnation Company in Oconomowoc, engineer Tom Farence takes a few moments to catch up with me before switching out the north and south milk tracks at Carnation.
We lost Tom last week suddenly, and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. God speed, Tom, and may all signals ahead be clear.
