I was so impressed with the detail work on this downtown St. Louis building.

In St. Louis, Missouri, USA, in the big courhouse. I spent an afternoon there during a thunderstorm. It was a big place, five stories of dome and surrounding balconies, and steps, with lots of rooms and museum displays. It turned out that my brother was in here with me during the whole thunderstorm, and we never ran into each other!
This photo was chosen for its vertigo potential, as I was looking down five flights of winding staircase. I like the light and various shades of colors.

This is from elsewhere in my photostream. I lightened it a little to put in a challenge. But then I didn't use it after all. Oh well. =)
(Never mind, I put it into a challenge about a month later, and it won!!)

Back in the St. Louis Courthouse again. I don't travel much, you see. So when I do see new things, they stay with me for a long time.
This time I am looking up the spiral staircase from the bottom. Although it is easy to flip your perception and decide I am looking down......
