I don't usually do black and white, but this turned out to be all about texture and light, so b&w worked best.
I bring my two giant hibiscus bushes, in pots, into the house for the winter. As soon as they hit the warm air, they start blooming. All the buds which were just barely hanging on in the cold suddenly burst forth. But I have to take "studio shots" of them if I want to remember their lushness. So here is a "studio shot" of one of my hibiscus bloom for Friday, Oct 5, 2010

Surprise, the Dahlias are making a comeback after the frost. Here is the first perfect white Dinnerplate Dahlia I have had this year. Just the center of it, anyway!
My mother loved white flowers and I have to agree!

I like this one because of the feeling of being the same size as a flower petal, as if I were a butterfly or something. This is how their world looks, I suppose.

This is one of those rare autumn scenes which actually looked a lot prettier in black and white. I thought I would use it for a challenge, but decided not to. i'll keep it here anyway, though.
Well, I used it for a later challenge! I guess they liked it because it won the "Nature in B&W" Theme Challenge. =)
