Just after 6.30 in the morning on the Monday between Christmas and New Year, and as can be seen on the extreme right, London Bridge itself is very quiet.

This wide angle image shows most of the Pool of London between London Bridge and Tower Bridge.

The reflection of the candy twist pattern on top of The Shard can be seen on the parapet of London Bridge, which I used to rest my pocket tripot for the 1/8th second exposure.

Not much to see from this seat next to the pond at Sanderstead on a foggy December Sunday morning.

The last weekend of 2024 was rather foggy in places, particularly on areas of higher ground. This was certainly the case in Caterham-on-the-Hill, where the headlights of a car shine bright as it passes beneath the large cedar tree, which looks impressive at night when it's lights are on.

The idea was to try and capture a dark and spooky image in the fog whilst walking down Caterham's Waller Lane. Despite being thick fog on the hill less than an hour before, it had lifted significantly by the time the bottom of the lane was reached. Despite that I thought I'd still go for some sort of shot and set up my pocket tripod on a concrete fence post. Initially I used the 'pro' mode with 4 seconds at ISO 50, but the distant lamp was far too bright. This shot waa taken using 'Night' mode which ended up at 1/9th second at ISO 1,600. Normally I wouldn't think of uploading a mobile phone image with such a high ISO, but really liked the way this turned out.
