The Anchor LIne was a Glasgow shipping company specialising in routes across the Atlantic and to India which lasted until 1980. Their ships were generally named ending in -ia. The California seen here was built in 1907 and sunk by a U-Boat in 1917 whist en route New York to Glasgow. She sank in nine minutes with the loss of 41 lives although the other 174 people on board survived.

Branded as 'Swedish Airlines', AB Aerotransport was the Swedish flag carrier which merged with the Norwegian and Danish flag carriers in 1951 to form SAS.
The aeroplane registered SE-BAC is a Douglas DC3 built in 1937. It served with ABA, SAS and then Finnish airline Karair and still exists preserved at the Finnish Aviation Museum at Vantaa.
