It was springtime revisited in late June in Ketchikan-- wildflowers in bloom everywhere, in glorious colors
I didn't expect to go to Alaska and find so many varieties everywhere we travelled

In Alaska, dogwood grows low to the ground, and is considered a subshrub. It grows in forests and subalpine areas. We found them in sunny meadow areas.
Other than it's height, it's easy to know it's a dogwood! :)

Just outside of the city of Juneau, this magnificent glacier is fed by the massive Juneau icefield, as is creating the lake below as it melts and recedes. The glacier is currently 12 miles long.
