The rounded mountain tops were ground down by glacial movement. The jagged peaks were higher, and never totally covered.

Another stunning glacier seen along Glacier Alley, in the Darwin Range. Patagonia, Chile.
This one also has several beautiful waterfalls from the ice melt. Zoom for a closer look, both at the ice and at the etchings it has carved into the rock face below.
