The colonial balconies of Cartagena and the Cathedral spire. The blue hour lasts only 5 minutes in the tropics, and the cathedral lights are turned on at minute 4, so the lights are a bit overexposed, I chose a square format because the buildings at the sides of the original frame did not help the visual.

Villa de Leyva, one of Colombia's best preserved colonial villages, a popular weekend destination for Bogota residents. The village square is 120m. x 120m., one of the largest in the western hemisphere, the village is pretty but boring after a few hours, the 2140m. altitude means cool night, but the tropical sun feels hot during the day. Unfortunately the background hills have been blackened by past fires. Taken from the patio of Hotel Plaza Mayor, where I was the only guest on a Monday.

Colonial streets of Barichara, Colombia. The cathedral is at the end of the alley. The color of the distant woman's clothing almost matches that of the putrefied radioactive pistachio color of the paint below the windows. She entered one of the stores at left before I got a closer shot.
