In 1844, Johann Carl Freybe opened a small store in Germany. In 1955, his great-grandson Ulrich moved to Canada, hoping to sell his family's signature sausages in Vancouver, and potentially across Canada. And he did exactly that. Freybe has won (according to their website) 600 international medals for culinary excellence. Their products are made in Langley (a municipality in the Metro Vancouver Regional District), and they support local events and organizations throughout the province.
