At the grocery store early this morning the man in front of me was purchasing 3 dozen doughnuts and a bottle of Mountain Dew. In the parking lot I saw he must have lost control of his load and dropped the bottle. It seemed to have opened and was emptying the contents in the middle of the parking lot. He seriously just left it there! Does it say more about his character that he left it there or mine that I stopped to take a picture of it and also left it.
July personal goal is to take pictures out and about. It really is to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone. I get quite self conscious about being in public with my camera and taking shots like this. People can be suspicious about cameras and I sort of have that poser syndrome.

While driving to the gym this morning I observed the sunrise creating amazing colors in the sky. I was anxious to try to capture something before the moment was gone. Class begins at 5:45. I pulled into the parking lot and frantically looked for a subject. Out of desperation, I just grabbed my sunglasses and held them up to capture the colors. This is straight out of the camera, no editing, cropping, nothing... What a marvelous way to begin the day! It's 7:30, exercise and 365 picture are checked off the list.

Continuing with my quest to not take pictures at my house. I walked around my neighborhood this morning looking for an interesting fence and this fit the bill. I do know my neighbors have been nervous about strangers taking pictures believing it to be crime related so I tried to make it clear that I was just focusing on the fence.

Limes are super cheap right now - 8 for $1 so we have been obsessing about making fresh limeade with mint. So yummy!
We use a ratio of 1/1/5 for lime juice/sugar/water. Add a little lime zest and mint and you've got yourself a very refreshing drink.
